What Is a Partial ?

A large part of my career thus far has been spend doing complicated repairs.   This has forced me to give much consideration to the fabrication and challenges of making these appliances.  Let's first begin by attempting to explain what a partial or partial denture is.

Well, as the name implies,  a partial denture is something fabricated to replace teeth when a person has lost some teeth but not all of them.  There are a variety of reasons for this but we'll talk about each as we go.

There are basically 2 typed of partial dentures.  1.  An all acrylic partial also known as a transitional partial or a flipper.  Some corporate businesses and some private doctors sell these as final prosthetics.

PS,  All of my images will be presented on model cast of human mouths.  This acrylic partial features two wire clasps that help hold it into place.  they can also be created without clasps.
